As we look toward 2026, interior design is returning to its roots, toward the will to create an authentic home.
More than just a material, natural wood is the home’s essence. It is a living, breathing testament to nature that brings warmth, history, and a sense of permanence to our home.
1. EMKO’s vision
A piece of wood’s journey is as equally significant as its final form. For decades, Lithuania has been recognized as a high-quality production base for the furniture industry. EMKO was born from the desire to turn this technical expertise into a design-led brand, bringing Nordic identity and high added value to the international market.

From solid ash wood, to oak, spruce or birch, each variation allows us to bring authenticity and warmth to each piece of furniture.
We maintain a strong dedication to ethical production by sourcin
g timber from the forests that are managed responsibly. Furthermore, by working with local Lithuanian factories, we ensure that our commitment to quality remains unwavering and that our will to produce in a responsible way remains intact.
2. A Palette of Nature
A home should be both personal yet timeless. To achieve this, we carefully select a range of solid woods chosen for their unique character and natural strength.
Featured in several of our collections, ash is renowned for its distinctive grain and durability. Whether painted or left in its natural, oiled state, this wood brings character and texture to your rooms.
Oak wood, used on our Pinion side table and Citizen Collection, is appreciated for its density, lasting strength and timeless charm.
Solid spruce brings a soothing atmosphere, also is known for its lightness, sense of space and solid, reliable character. Used in our new desk, the Jotspot, spruce allows us to create a space-saving desk with special character.
While woods with unique aesthetic patterns may not always meet conventional industry standards, we see potential in them. By transforming solid birch offcuts into the I Piccolini Wooden Animal Figures and highlighting the wood’s natural colour variations, we turn these small scraps into a playful celebration of ‘perfect imperfections’.

By carefully applying paint to these pieces, we not only expand our colour palette but also ensure that 95% of all the timber and veneer we purchase is used.
Veneer is used on interior pieces such as tables, desks, and chairs, helping to minimise wood waste and create visual harmony, with the various veneer panels able to be painted to achieve a harmonious overall result.
In our Citizen collection the use of veneer allows us to offer tables and chairs with elegant lines, available in black and woon tones to match different interiors.
3. A Living Legacy

Even after leaving the workshop, solid wood remains a living, organic material that continues to evolve. Its inherent sensitivity to shift in temperature and humidity means it can exhibit subtle, signature movements as the years go by. This dynamism, far from being a flaw, is the truest mark of its genuineness. At EMKO, we welcome this natural tendency, incorporating smart structural reinforcements to allow the wood to "work" and breathe, all while preserving the piece's stability.
Wood doesn’t just sit in a room, it lives with you. It ages, acquiring a distinctive character that tells the story of every gathering and every peaceful moment. Choosing pieces designed to last brings a sense of permanence and grace to your home.
In a world that’s constantly speeding up, wood offers a counterbalance, a way to pause and cultivate a unique, enduring space. From a simple ornament to a grand dining table, solid wood is a sound investment, something to be cherished for years to come.
